Progress has been slow the past months due to members not being well and general family commitments.
Another problem facing the group is that not all can drive or have access to transport, consequently, arrangements to undertake recordings have had to be cancelled.
Members are hopeful, however, that some recordings can be made before the summer break, although 3 members have had to leave the group due to family commitments, thereby leaving just 6 active members.
Transcriptions have been progressing slowly; 9 are almost ready to go into the library and another 3 are due to be finished shortly. One member who had been undertaking transcriptions has, unfortunately, had to stop leaving just 2 members working on the initial transcriptions, with the Secretary editing and producing the finished versions.
Despite these recent set-backs we have almost caught up with our backlog.
The group currently has a "waiting list" of people who have offered to be recorded, however, due to the difficulties outlined above, the current group members are finding it difficult to undertake these recordings.
More transcription extracts will be added to the site, just as soon as work on them gets back on track.
As can be seen, at present, the group is in need of new members and therefore if anyone would like to join, or feels that they may be able to support the group in some way, could they please contact the Secretary.
